Republicans are big brother.

The Republican party is always saying they are against big Government and at means against Obama, but The Republicans became what they hated the most. In the 6 years Bush had control of all three parts of government he went big government. He made crazy deficits the thing they say would happen if the Democrats get control. This is also true today there is a right wing group asking to put in place a 62 amendment that would make Abortion illegal. That is crazy I think a women has a right to chose, but apparently according to some republicans the government has the right to tell people whether or not they should be able to have an Abortion. The Government has no right to regulate companies, but have the right to tell people is they can have an abortion . I think that it isn't the government's job to tell people if they can or can't have an abortion I believe that a women has the right to chose. Some republicans also believe that same sex marriage should be illegal. Republicans say that they should be able to say who can or can't get married. I think that the Government has no right to tell people they can or can't get married. Apparently some small government people like to impose there believes on others while those big Government people think they have no right to impose there beliefs on others

Defunding

We all thought the abortion issue was over. Now the issue came back. We are hearing that the Conservative government has cut funding for organizations that went against the Conservative position on maternal health. An organization's funding should not be decreased just because of their beliefs. This does not sound like the Canada I know. The Canada I know is the one who does not discriminate on organization for saying their opinion. I ask the government to apologize to each organization personally and restore all funding.

The following organizations have lost there funding:

  • Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women (CRIAW)
  • Conseil d'intervention pour l'accès des femmes au travail  (CIAFT)
  • New Brunswick Pay Equity Coalition
  • Réseau des Tables régionales de groupes de femmes du Québec
  • Alberta Network of Immigrant Women
  • Centre de documentation sur l'éducation des adultes et la condition feminine
  • Association féminine d'éducation et d'action sociale (AFEAS)
  • Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses (OAITH)
  • Womenspace Resource Centre (Lethbridge, AB)
  • Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation (CERA)
  • Feminists for Just and Equitable Public Policy (FemJEPP) in Nova Scotia

Where is the line?

A game in Japan called Rape. You guessed it it involves rape. in the Game the player follows a girl to a subway platform. You can decide to rape the girl and her sister and mother. Then you can rape the girl again and again. You can even make the girl pregnant and urge her to have an abortion. This game shows horrible graphic scenes that should not be a part of any game. I think this game should not be allowed to be in stores there has to be some sort of line game designers can't cross.

Conservatives do not want contraception in health initiatives

Harper in the G8 said he would not like to talk about contraception or abortion. Harper stated how the opposition is playing petty politics, but the truth is the conservative government do not approve of helping people in the poor country's by providing contraception while I and 74% of Canadians believe that Harper should be providing contraception. I do think that in the G8 the 8 richest countries may have more important things to do like the economy, jobs and debt. I still think this should be something Harper should concern himself considering he does have health initiative. Now the most arguable thing in this debate is whether the initiative should include providing abortion. I believe strongly that if indeed people want an abortion they should have to pay for it, but if it endangers the mothers life it should be provided.

U.S health care is not baby killing

If you can remember when the health care debate in the U.S., it started in the summer. You remember all those people who screamed at the congressman or woman's "baby killer." I would like to say that Nancy Pelosi, Obama have stated again and again that the health care bill will not give money for abortion. I think that in the health care bill people who can die if they try to keep the baby should have a free abortion because they may die, but under no circumstances should someone who will not die from abortion should have to pay from their pockets and not the tax payers pockets.
