OTTAWA - Federalists and Quebec sovereigntists were both demanding apologies on Monday over a weekend speech by BlocQuebecois Leader Gilles Duceppe that described Quebecers as "resisters" to Canada.

What's all the fuss about?
Apparently, there has been great dissatisfaction with Gilles Duceppe's speech over the weekend. In it he says that the Bloc have been the resistance to Canada's policies. People are saying that this has ties to the resistance during the Nazi regime. Personally, I don't see what the whole fuss is about. Sometimes the media overspins something to go like this, "Wow! Gilles Duceppe used a big word. Let's all go attack him because the word he used can be understood in a different context." I have to agree with Duceppe on this one. The fuss over his big word is "plain stupid." It's not the first time a word has different meanings nor the last. All the parties that criticized him for that remark should learn their lesson. Don't do it again. I don't think they should apologize but they should not do it again.
